Vedic Astrology is the ancient system of Astrology that was based on Nakshatras and the movement of Moon. The process of Nakshatra Bhedan was the most important aspect of Vedic Astrology. This system used the exact date and time at which Moon entered a Nakshatra to determine the happening of a particular event. Vedic Astrology used very detailed system of calculations that were processed by what we call today as Vedic Mathematics. The principals of Vedic Astrology are available in Rig Veda and details are available in Yajur Veda. The teachings of Vedic Astrology were preserved in Guru Shishya Parampara. Various techniques were added to the ancient system. Casting of a Horoscope, Dasa System, Ashtakvarg, Sub Divisional Charts all these complex systems were evolved and Books were written on these subjects. The Royal Courts became the main patrons of Hindu Astrology. Panchang, Hindu Calender and the Hindu religion was enriched by Hindu Astrology. Hindu Astrologers were highly rewarded for there works.
